The Manufactured Housing Pioneers of the Gila Valley

1988 - Celebrating 25 years in business
In the Gila Valley, when you think about manufactured homes, the name Hancock inevitably comes to mind.  The Hancock family's roots in both the Gila Valley and in the manufactured housing industry run deep.  Ivan and Kathryn opened their mobile home park and sales office in 1968 east of Safford on land Ivan's family owned.  Ivan was returning his growing family to his hometown after having successfully established a 55-space mobile home park in Glendale, AZ.  The plan was to build a small  RV park on the site of his birth, then return with his family to Glendale.  The long single wide mobile home they parked on the highway literally stopped traffic as amazed travellers stopped to inquire if they could see inside.  If the single wide caused a stir, it was nothing compared to the double wide Ivan and Kathryn replaced it with!  That home was what truly led to their success in pioneering the sale of manufactured homes in this area.

The planned RV park was soon complete, but needless to say, the rest of the original plan was forgotten.  Ivan and Kathryn loved living in Safford and stayed put... and ever since, as their family has continued to grow here, so has their business.  For these past 41 years, the Hancock family has led the way in the manufactured home industry in Arizona.  In the Gila Valley,  they were the first to introduce 14-wides, double-wides, 32-wides, triple-wides, quad-wides, 5-wides and the 6/12 hip-roof, and in 2003, the Gila Valley's first modular home. Currently homes are selling in their newest development, the valley's first upscale manufactured home subdivision, Stone Willow.   Located in the heart of Safford, it is sure to become the Gila Valley's most beautiful manufactured home community.  As more innovations are introduced in manufactured housing, you can be sure that the Hancocks will continue to bring them to homebuyers here in the Gila Valley.
Ivan and Kathryn's family has always been involved in the business.  Their son Eric, (seen at right helping Mom), has been managing Hancock Enterprises' sales office for the past 13 years.  So while Ivan  and Kathryn are enjoying their hard-earned semi-retirement from manufactured home sales, Eric has now taken over the business and is excited to continue in his parents' footsteps.

As Hancock Home Center, we will continue to provide the same excellent service that the Hancock family has been known for in the Gila Valley for over four decades.  We will continue to offer the latest in beautiful manufactured homes at affordable prices.  With our knowledable sales staff and friendly service after the sale, we are dedicated to providing our customers with a satisfying home buying experience.
